Dhulikhel Hospital is one of the 3 designated COVID-19 testing centres in Nepal.  The Hospital has set up COVID-19 testing and isolation areas and is mobilising its teams to spread the word about hygiene and prevention of viral transmission.  The Hospital has also introduced initiatives such as the production of disinfectant.

The PPF has provided funding support for the hospital’s teams to build hand washing and hygiene stations, an infrastructure resource for now and the future.

While the reported COVID-19 numbers are low, there is uncertainty about the real level of the virus in the community. There is also great concern about the risk of community transmission when thousands of Nepali migrant workers currently living abroad will come home, once border and travel restrictions will be lifted.

We are grateful for the dedication and commitment of the Hospital teams to help their country deal with this pandemic.
